Sculpture

Process Information:

The horsehair originates from Daisy’s Icelandic horse which lives in his home village in northern Germany. He grew up with that horse, and as such it held a significant part of his childhood. The bone, most likely a vertebra of a deer, was found in the oak forests in the surrounding area of the village, and the dried flowers were sourced from a funeral in spring. Braiding hair, collecting natural trinkets and creating little fragile monuments is one of the most primal and original ways humans create art.

The artwork was made in spring 2024 (May).
