Title: Unio animae / Tabula totius animae

'One cannot develop a sense of wholeness, without being courageous enough to venture back and forth between known and unknown territories. Eventually all shrinks down into a singular, hollow receptical through which a loving essence can flow freely.'

Unio animae is an art piece that encompasses the conceptual and visualized map to my soul. It unifies opposites and holds paradoxes that create the life-tension between inner and outer world, conscious-unconscious, masculine-feminine energy, darkness and light pluralities and pours them into one unified experience of the whole and eternal non-dual Self.
It also holds quaternities such as psychological functions, alchemical natural elements, ancient symbolic and mythological 'directions' and shows through an airy window a landscape of the inner world. In it, multiple inversions just like the inversions of a growing fetus, create an interconnected abstract realm of the numinous that is exposed by a withdrawn curtain.

Blurry mirrors. A little excerpt of a story: [...] After a while, she returned from exploring the house and met me outside the front door. "All I found upstairs were blurry mirrors with sad faces in them. They stared at me from underneath a layer that looked as if the murkey puddles had come alive. I brought a piece."

I took the shard of glass out of her hand, and indeed it reflected the light of the street light we stood under dimly at best. She continued: "I could not trick any of the faces in the mirrors to smile at me. I really tried."

To comfort her, I smiled but nervously held the pointy shard too tightly for a moment so that it hurt. I thought that my smile must have been pressed because she suddenly looked disapointed, but then she burst out: "I should have smiled at them first! I did not try that."

And while I inspected my palm for cuts, I heard myself cite some philosopher's words I must have picked up somewhere: "You were not free to choose that which never occured to you." My palm was fine, she looked sad and because neither of us knew what to do next, we stood around for a little. We had just planned to explore this house, nothing more. [...]
